See, the future isn’t always bleak and may actually be quite colorful and well preserved 
Truthfully, if any part of the modern world is still around by the time the majority of ground traffic goes airborne, it will probably be parts of Europe as they’re great preservers of the past. This is probably good as any structures in America that sit for more than 5-minutes get replaced with a Taco Bell/Pizza Hut combo and are forgotten forever. Tragic.
